Scholarship Announcement

The College Advising Office is pleased to announce that four Wesleyan seniors have been nominated by a faculty committee as our nominees for prestigious scholarships at the University of Virginia, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Davidson College, and Washington University in St. Louis. Daniel Baisier is Wesleyan’s nominee for the Jefferson Scholarship at the University of Virginia. The Jefferson Foundation seeks to find high school seniors who possess exceptional ability in leadership and scholarship and who show promise of making a significant contribution to the University of Virginia community as students and to society at large as graduates.
 
Kelsey Rappe is Wesleyan’s nominee for the Morehead-Cain Scholarship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Morehead-Cain Foundation seeks to find competitive applicants who demonstrate moral force of character, academic scholarship, physical vigor, and leadership.
 
Erin McConnell is Wesleyan’s nominee for the Belk Scholars competition at Davidson College. Nominees must demonstrate academic excellence and purposeful engagement in the classroom, with student and civic organizations, on the athletic field, or in the arts. While academic achievement is paramount, Belk Scholars also exhibit intellectual curiosity and a commitment to both their local and global communities. 
 
Last but not least, Max Fernandes is Wesleyan’s nominee for the Danforth Scholarship at the Washington University in St. Louis. The Danforth Scholars Program honors the student who embraces high ideals, whose life choices are guided by personal integrity, selflessness, a commitment to community, and a dedication to leadership and academic excellence.
