Students in the Amatz house teach their peers about courage

On Monday, April 8, eighth grade student leaders from the Amatz house delivered an engaging presentation about their core values of courage and resilience.
Students demonstrated courage by leading skits for their peers and participating in a basketball free throw challenge to earn points for their respective houses.

Rich Billing, middle school dean of student life, reminded students that they are in their respective houses not because they already embody the core values, but because they are continuing to develop them.

“Everybody in Amatz was not chosen to be in Amatz because they were already courageous,” explains Billing. “We are growing in this. We find our courage and resilience through Christ.”

Students reflected on Joshua 1:9 (NIV), which says “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Thank you, Amatz house, for teaching us to seek courage through Christ who is our strength.
