“Hokmah’s character traits are wisdom and integrity,” explained Audrey Turner ‘28.
Turner explained that wisdom is having experience, knowledge, and good judgement, and integrity is being honest and having strong principles or exhibiting moral uprightness.
Students were encouraged to consider Scripture to inform their understanding of these qualities.
Turner shared James 1:5 (NIV), which says “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” Turner also read Proverbs 10:9 (NIV), which says “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.”
“We want to challenge you to use wisdom and integrity whenever someone needs advice, during your sports, or any other extracurricular activity you participate,” encouraged Turner.
Thank you to the Hokmah house for teaching our middle school students about wisdom and integrity.
