Ethan Devarapalli '28 is selected to participate in Georgia Music Educators All-State Chorus

After two rigorous rounds of auditions, Ethan Devarapalli ’28 was selected to participate in Georgia Music Educators All-State Chorus in Athens, Georgia, recognizing him as the top 10% of singers in the state.
Devarapalli was a member of the inaugural Middle School Tenor/Bass Choir directed by master conductor Daniel Gutierez of Missouri. In addition, he was selected for a solo on the sea shanty “John The Slacker” by Blake Richter. His group got to sing the song for the composer during the group’s final rehearsal, and Mr. Richter complimented the soloists, saying “soloists, yes, fantastic – you crushed it!”

“I’m so proud that Ethan was a member of the first ever All-State Middle School Tenor/Bass choir,” says Meg Foster, director of fine arts and middle school chorus teacher. “The group was not only exceptionally musical but had a comradery and spirit about them that was evident in each rehearsal and especially the performance.”

Well done, Ethan!
