First grade students perform the Three Piggy Opera

First grade students carried on the beloved tradition of the “Three Piggy Opera” in Bowen Cafetorium on Feb. 14.
Using creative costumes, catchy songs, and unique characters, students told the story of the three little pigs and how they cleverly escaped a wolf.

“Students became more confident in their roles as they practiced on stage,” explains Angie Daugherty, first grade chair. “They grew in public speaking, eye contact, and teamwork.”

As first grade students practiced and rehearsed, they learned how to collaborate and work with one another as they were required to pay attention to the other actors so they would know when it was time to do their part.

Way to go, first grade performers!
