Third grade students participate in a TIED Together lesson

Third grade students engaged in a beautiful TIED Together lesson by Kristine Hall, third grade teacher.
Hall began the lesson by reading “Be the Change” by Arun Gandhi, Mahatma Gandhi’s grandson. The book describes the damage of wastefulness and violence, explaining that violence can be passive or active. Passive forms of violence include not sharing, gossiping, yelling, lying, and wasting.

Hall encouraged students to be good stewards of the resources they are given and to pursue peace. She reminded them of Romans 12 which teaches us to love our enemies and to overcome evil with good.

To conclude the lessons, students brainstormed and wrote how to save resources and how to show kindness.

Thank you, third grade students, for your willingness to learn how to be peaceful inhabitants of the world God has given.
