Alumni reconnect at the Alumni Christmas Party

On Wednesday, Dec. 20, Wesleyan alumni, parents of alumni, faculty, and former faculty gathered at the Factory Atlanta for the annual Alumni Christmas Party.
Wesleyan faculty members hope and seek to invest deeply in students to create lifelong relationships are created. The value of a Wesleyan education extends far beyond the years spent at school here.

“The Alumni Christmas Party is one of my favorite events of the year,” explains Shelley Martin, director of alumni. “It is perhaps one of the most missional events we host because it is evidence that the relationships formed between faculty and students continue to grow throughout the years.”

The theme of this year’s Christmas party was “Greatest Hits,” and leading up to the party, various faculty members lip synced popular Christmas songs to encourage alumni to attend the event.

Dr. Isiah Hill, high school assistant dean of student life, Dr. Adonnis Jules, Bible teacher, Joseph Koch, high school principal, Joseph Cooper, English teacher, and Chris Yoder, director of studies, kickstarted the music video release with their rendition of “Santa Clause is Comin’ to Town.”

Cairo Booker ‘16, special events manager, Dr. Jennifer Pinkett Smith, director of diversity, and DiAndrea Brown, middle school counselor, performed the classic song “White Christmas.”

The fan-favorite Wesleyan boy band performing “Mistletoe” included Jospeh Antonio, middle school principal, Chris Paroli, assistant director of athletics: media, Michael Mann, STEM teacher, Guillermo Vallejo, modern and classical languages teacher, and Davis Brown ‘10, assistant director of Christian life: worship and discipleship.

The final video release featured Meagan Brooker, assistant director of fine arts, Jen Sheppard, assistant director of Christian life: missions and retreats, and Paige Burgess, science teacher singing “All I Want for Christmas is You.”

We are so thankful to our faculty members who go the extra mile to show alumni that they are seen, known, loved, and cared for by the Wesleyan community.

Thank you to everyone who attended this year’s Alumni Christmas Party!
