Zachary Gan and Jackson Murphy announced as 2023 valedictorian and salutatorian

Congratulations to the 2023 Wesleyan School valedictorian, senior Zachary Gan, and salutatorian, senior Jackson Murphy. Gan and Murphy are awarded these honors based on their academic accomplishments. In addition to incredible hard work and success in the classroom, both Gan and Murphy are involved in many activities outside of the classroom.
During his time at Wesleyan, Gan was involved in the marching band and chapel worship team. He served in the pit orchestra for Wesleyan’s productions of “All Shook Up” and “Hello, Dolly!” Gan was also a part of the robotics, math, mock trial, and track and field teams. He served Wesleyan by volunteering as a before care student helper and a Wesleyan Summer Camp counselor. Next year, Gan will study mechanical engineering at Georgia Tech.

Murphy participated in Wesleyan athletics as a part of the cross country and lacrosse teams. He was also a part of the math and mock trial teams and the academic and history bowls. In addition to being an Eagle Scout, Murphy was a part of the Young Men’s Service League, which offers leadership opportunities for mothers and sons. Murphy will also study mechanical engineering at Georgia Tech next year.

Congratulations, Zachary and Jackson, and we look forward to hearing your speeches at Commencement! We are so proud of you, and we wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
