High school robotics teams compete in state tournament

Congratulations to our high school robotics teams on a strong showing in the state tournament! Both the A and B teams qualified for the tournament because of their impressive performances in regular season competition.
During the preliminary matches of the state tournament, teams are paired with a random team to compete against another random pairing. The robots from each side must work together to gain control of designated objects. Extra points are awarded to teams that are able to stack the objects or balance their robot on an elevated ramp. In the state tournament, the A team went 5-2, and the B team went 3-4.

The high school robotics teams are made up of nine students ranging from ninth to 12th graders, and Andy Mattick, high school math and STEM teacher, is in his third year coaching the teams.

Way to go, robotics teams, and we look forward to watching this program continue to grow!
