Both Girls and Boys Swim & Dive Crowned State Champs

Coach Kevin Kadzis
What a wonderful, remarkable, and thrilling state swim & dive meet at GA Tech! Our divers got the team off to a strong start by earning two top 5 finishes earlier in the week. Then, after an incredible prelim session for our swimmers, the stage was set for an unforgettable evening of competition at the GHSA 1A-3A swim finals on Saturday evening. The historic and fantastic results are already well known, but in case anyone missed it, both our boys’ and girls' teams won their respective swim and dive state championships which marks a significant accomplishment for our athletes. The dual team 1st place finishes mark just the 2nd time in school history (1st being 2020) that both boys’ and girls’ teams have finished in the top 3 in the same season. The boys’ state championship is our third in school history, and first since 2012! Not to be out done, the girls state championship is the first in school history! The fact we accomplished this with just 16 athletes is a testament to everyone doing their best for the good of the team.

It is an honor to lead our swim & dive program, I am incredibly proud of the entire state team. With 8 new program top 10 times, numerous personal records, and season bests, every single member of the state team performed at the highest level of the season against some of the best competition the state of Georgia has to offer. This has been a memorable season with an exhilarating finish, congratulations to every member of the state team for buying in and accepting their specific role on our team to put us in the position to win two state championships in one meet. Also, thank you to everyone who came to the meet to support our team and worked behind the scenes to help provide everything we needed to perform at such a high level.
