Wesleyan School hosts a Paying for College Seminar

On the evening of Jan. 25, the college advising office hosted high school parents for the annual Paying for College Seminar. This year’s speaker was John Sisk, senior assistant director in the Office of Financial Aid at Emory University.
Sisk brought his 25 years of financial aid expertise to the subject of paying for college. When asked why he enjoyed speaking to our families, Sisk replied, “It is always good to get the message of financial aid out there. My hope is to dispel the fear and confusion that surrounds applying for financial aid by equipping applicants with knowledge and resources.”

Ken Connor, Wesleyan’s director of college advising, added his encouragement of the topic as well by saying, “Paying for college can be a confusing topic, so it's always helpful to provide opportunities to families to learn more about aid, scholarships, and loans.”

Sisk discussed types of financial aid, sources of aid, net price calculators, and more.

Connor added, “I especially encourage parents to learn more about these topics in their child’s earlier years of high school, rather than waiting until their senior year.”

Thank you again, to Mr. John Sisk, for being such a valuable resource to Wesleyan families. Current Wesleyan families may view Sisk’s presentation here.
