High school students celebrate Christmas chapel

Marching in from the back of the chapel, the drum line surprised the students by joining the worship band to perform “The Little Drummer Boy,” and the high school symphonic band also joined in.
Davis Brown ‘10, assistant director of Christian life for worship and discipleship, organized a list of readings from Matthew and Luke about the birth of Christ. He invited students to read scripture over their peers. Jackson Kennedy ‘25, Caitlin Bridgers ‘23, Allie Grace Sperling ‘26, Papa Ohemeng Mensah ‘24, Macie Milam ‘24, Noah John ‘26, Sara Marie Miller ‘25, and Roman Reynolds ‘23 read the passages.

“Christmas chapel is intended to be meaningful and joy-filled. The theme for the month is 'rejoice,' and what an incredible opportunity to rejoice together,” reflects Brown.

Additionally, high school chamber singers performed “In the Bleak Midwinter.”

As the chapel program alternated between songs and scripture, many students generously shared the talents and gifts the Lord has given them.

Thank you, high school students, for your involvement in chapel. It was a joy to pause the busyness to acknowledge that Jesus is the reason for the season!
