Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity

July 7, 2020

Dear Wesleyan Family,

“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” Micah 6:8

Our communications since March have mostly dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic, distance learning, and the planned re-opening of Wesleyan’s campus. Though these issues are at the forefront of our minds regarding Wesleyan right now, we want to share with our Wesleyan family about an issue of far greater eternal importance than the current pandemic. In the verse above from Micah, God tells us what is good and what He requires of us: to seek justice, to love with kindness, and to walk humbly with our God. As a family, we need to discuss diversity, racism, and the experience many in our family have had at Wesleyan.
