Mercy Care

Wesleyan students made a generous donation to Mercy Care on Monday morning, April 24, as part of the school’s “Do Something Beautiful for God” initiative.
In February, Wesleyan’s Athletic Director, Marc Khedouri, along with a few anonymous friends, gave each and every high school student an envelope that read “Do Something Beautiful for God” and held $100. The students were given the “assignment” to take the money and do something special for God. Marc provided a few examples, but encouraged them to make a thoughtful decision on their own.

The gift inspired sophomore Grayson Ragsdale to organize a group of students to work together to make a bigger impact. Grayson, along with 29 other Wesleyan students, pooled their funds and this morning presented a check for $3,000 to the Mercy Care president, Tom Andrews, and the Mercy Care Foundation president, Steve Siler.

The money will be used to purchase kitchen essentials for the new Chamblee Clinic teaching kitchen where clients will experience hands-on cooking demonstrations and learn healthy eating habits for themselves and their families.
