Class of 2027 leads eighth grade chapel

On Thursday, May 11, the middle school chapel celebrated our eighth grade students, who led a majority of the service. It was a beautiful time spent reflecting on the Christian life theme for the month: remember. Students recalled how the Lord blessed them and sustained them during their middle school years.
Caroline Rountree ‘27 shared a devotion encouraging her peers to consider and remember the omnipresence and never-ending love of God.

“God is with you. God is for you. God will always love you,” shared Rountree.

Riley Beall ‘27 shared a biblical perspective on the definition of remembrance and encouraged her classmates to allow the action of remembering to give them hope and confidence for the future.

“God’s definition of remembering is an action that brings the power of Jesus into our lives,” Beall explained.

Anastasia Lamas ‘27 spoke about the importance of remembering that any blessings are not the result of our own efforts, but rather come from the Lord.

“Instead of thinking our abilities have brought us this far, we have to remember God gave us the strength we need,” she reflected.

Will Daugherty ‘27 closed with a word about endurance and reminded his fellow soon-to-be freshmen peers that the Lord allowed them to persevere through challenges throughout middle school, and He will remain faithful to them as they enter this new season.

Eighth grade students also led worship and enjoyed a slideshow of their baby photos.

Thank you, Class of 2027, for four wonderful years in the middle school. We are excited and expectant to see how you will continue to thrive during high school.
