Varsity Swimming Round-Up

Metro Swim & Dive Championship meet at Westminster has been completed and what a meet it was! After long day of competition our girls’ and boys’ teams finish 6th and 3rd, respectively, which continues our streak of top 10 finishes at Metro.  Congratulations to all swimmers and divers for performing at a high level against tough competition. It is difficult to choose a meet highlight but any one of the four individual state cuts or Hattie Wasmuth’s first place finishes in both the 200IM & 500 free would certainly be good choices! Thank you to everyone who came out to support the team a big thank you to everyone who assisted with the many behind the scenes logistics needed put the team in a position to succeed. After weather last week forced a reschedule, we had our final home meet of the season this evening at Davidson Natatorium. We competed admirably against tough competition from our neighbors from Johns Creek. Both our boys’ and girls’ hung in there but Johns Creek was able to pull away with wins in both categories. Despite this, it was a great meet with some really good races and quality diving! Everything was punctuated by our senior night celebration for the swimmers and divers in the Class of 2023.  This meet concludes the regular season as the team now turns our attention to both the Metro and State meets to be held in the coming days.

New State Cuts:
Vivian Hosier – 200 free

All that contributed to both the boys’ and girls’ teams earning victories in their respective meets.
