Sage Dining celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

Hispanic Heritage Month is from September 15 to October 15. In honor of this special month, Sage Dining at Wesleyan prepared Hispanic dishes for students’ lunches.
Earlier this week, Sage chose to serve:
  • Ajiaco (Colombian chicken and potato soup).
  • Picadillo (Latin-style ground beef).
  • Maduros Fritos (Dominican fried sweet plantains).
  • Brazilian collard greens.
  • Vegan Costa Rican Rondon.
  • And a fan favorite, churros!
There are a couple of reasons I chose to serve picadillo as the main entree for our Hispanic Heritage lunch,” states Bob Garrett, Sage coordinator. “One, it’s authentic while still being fairly accessible and somewhat familiar to non-Hispanic folks who may be trying it for the first time. And two, it is a food that is found throughout Latin America, not just one or two countries.”

Thank you, Sage Dining!
