Wolves enjoy Daddy Daughter Dance, Mother Son Game Night, Grandparents Day, and family night

Lower school students and families excitedly welcomed the return of special family celebrations, including the Daddy Daughter Dance, Mother Son Game Night, and Grandparents Day. In addition to quarterly family nights, these beloved, spring traditions offer opportunity for students and families to slow down and focus on the relationships closest to them. Fathers and daughters danced the night away; mothers and sons fueled their competitive fires, and lower school students proudly shared their classrooms with their grandparents and special friends.
Held on April 1, the Daddy Daughter Dance was no April Fools’ joke. Fathers and their lower school daughters dressed in their finest to groove to a DJ and enjoy tasty snacks.

Held on April 8, the Mother Son Game Night showcased intensity and enthusiasm from sons and mothers alike. Divided into color-coded teams, mothers and their lower school sons raced around Yancey Gymnasium and the quad, flung and evaded dodgeballs, and embraced their competitive passion.

After being paused in 2020 and 2021, Grandparents and Special Friends Day returned to campus with the biggest turnout in recent memory. More than 500 grandparents shared breakfast with Chris Cleveland, head of school, enjoyed chapel with their grandchildren, and visited their grandchildren’s classrooms to see what they are learning. Needless to say, there was no shortage of smiles.

Thank you, parents and grandparents, for creating such special memories with our lower school students!
