Marching Wolves excel in recent competition

Though accustomed to the Friday Night Lights of Henderson Stadium, the Marching Wolves took their 2021 halftime show on the road to a marching band competition at Sprayberry High School. The Marching Wolves earned first place in percussion, second place in color guard, and second place overall in the Class A division. “The band peaked at just the right moment with their very best performance on the field on Saturday,” explained Jeff Foster, band director.
The 2021 Marching Wolves performance can be broken into three parts, and each piece focused on a different element of traffic or rush hour. First, students march and perform in a “hurry up and wait” pattern reminding the audience of stop-and-go traffic or a yellow light. Next, students come to a screeching halt as if encountering a red light resulting in a total traffic jam. Lastly, the third part features students in perfectly fluid motion like a green light at an intersection.

“The students made absolutely tremendous progress over the last three weeks and never stopped improving,” shared Foster.

Way to go, Marching Wolves, and congratulations!
