Fourth grade students continue T.I.E.D. Together lessons
During the first week of the month, lower school students and teachers participate in T.I.E.D. Together lessons focused on Teaching Inclusivity and Embracing Diversity Together. Following the lesson, parents receive guidance on how to continue these meaningful conversations as a family.
Fourth grade students and teachers continued their book study of Trillia Newbell’s Creative God, Colorful Us. Previous lessons emphasized that we are all created in the image of God. “He made each of us uniquely,” one student shared. “We can reflect God to others,” another said.
This week’s lesson focused on Genesis 3 and how sin entered the world through the Fall, and then students discussed how sin is related to disobedience. As students learned about how the Fall separated man from God, they also discussed God’s plan to rescue His people through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. This rescue plan is the picture of forgiveness.
To conclude the lesson, students collaborated to write a class-wide acrostic poem describing how Jesus is our Rescuer. The boys of Emma Grace Burns’ class wrote this poem:
- R is for Replenisher.
- E is for eager.
- S is for Savior.
- C is for crucified.
- U is for unique.
- E is for elaborate.
- R is for restores our faith.
