Volleyball Weekly Round-Up
Varsity
The Varsity squad went 2-2 last week with wins over Woodward Academy and Galloway. On Wednesday, Parker Tidwell recorded 10 kills and 3 blocks, while Morgan Perry added 9 kills, and Lauren Van Wie hustled for 26 digs. On Tuesday, Amber Mathis provided 10 kills and Emily Godfrey made 34 assists. The team concludes the regular season this week, and will host the Region Tournament beginning on Thursday.
Junior Varsity
The JV team made it all the way to the Semi-Finals of the Gwinnett Co. Championships last week to close out the season with a 25-11 overall record. In the GCC tournament, they defeated Buford, Archer, GAC, and South Gwinnett. On Saturday, the team was led by Mamie Pridgen with 5 aces and 23 assists, Michelle Custis with 23 digs, Emily Runyon with 14 digs, and Julia Weatherly with 8 kills. Thank you to Coaches Connor and Randrup for a great year of development.
8th Grade
The 8th Grade team rattled off 5 wins this week to push their final regular season record to 15-14. At Saturday's Wesleyan Invitational they defeated Cornerstone, GAC, and Holy Innocents and ended the day as Champions of the Silver Bracket. The team was led by Caroline Stickney with 26 aces and 36 assists, Taylor Douglas with 20 digs, and Hollyn Daum with 17 digs, 12 kills, and 15 aces. Congratulations to the girls on a great season, and thank you to Coaches Holmes and Riggins for a fun year.
7th Grade
The 7th Grade team concluded their season this week against Cornerstone Academy. They finished 8-9-1 against a strong schedule of competition. The girls played a fantastic season, and are grateful to Coaches Vallejo and Cooper for their leadership.
