Softball Weekly Round-Up

Varsity
The Varsity team honored their Seniors Imani Washington, Tinsley Bertram, and Jessica Nolan last week before a 1-0 victory over a strong Chamblee team.  Tinsley Bertram scored the only run of the evening while Jessica Nolan earned a Win in the circle.  The Wolves then concluded their regular season with an 11-1 victory over Loganville Christian as they were led by Jasmine Green with 3 RBI, while Macey Cintron and Christina McCoy both knocked 3 hits a piece.  That win pushed them to 17-3 on the season.  Saturday began the post-season push in the Area Tournament as the Wolves defeated Hebron Christian 10-0 in five innings.  Ryley Kutter blasted a Home Run, and picked up the win in the Circle.  The Area tournament concludes this week at Agape Field.

Junior Varsity
The Junior Varsity softball team won their season finale Tuesday by the score of 6-0 versus the Decatur Bulldogs.  Lydie Barnett worked herself out of a hairy first inning leaving the bases loaded without surrendering a run.  She then breezed through 3 more innings before giving way to Kendall Dettlinger who closed out the game with 3 shutout innings of her own.  Carolena Pinson opened the scoring with a sacrifice fly in the first inning which scored Lauren Tucker who reached on an error. In the second inning the Wolves promptly loaded the bases on singles by Audrey Doss and TJ Webb and a walk to Leah Todd.  After scoring a few runs on groundball outs, Anna Kennedy smashed a triple off the right-center field fence, and Pinson drove a liner past the shortstop to complete the 5-run inning.  That was all the runs the Wolves would need to secure their 7th victory of the season.  The team finished with a 7-3 record.  Congratulations to the girls and Coaches Krehmeyer and Kuehne on a fantastic season!

Middle School
The Middle School team concluded their season last week, finishing with a 13-2 overall record.  In the finale against GAC, they won 21-1 punctuated by an inside the park Home Run from from Grace McLeod.  Congratulations to the girls and Coaches Archer, Castleberry, and Smith for a fantastic season.
