Wesleyan Welcomes New Administrative Staff Members

Wesleyan School is excited to welcome the following administrative staff members to the athletic, technology, and communications departments! Read more about their backgrounds below:
Athletic Department

Lacy Gilbert will serve as the Director of Athletics. Lacy was appointed to the faculty in 1997 as a physical education teacher and basketball and soccer coach. Lacy is an alumna of Georgia Southern University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Education and The University of Alabama where she received her Master’s degree. Lacy has served as an assistant athletic director since 2011 and took on the role of Transportation Coordinator for the 2019-2020 school year. She spent 16 years at the helm of the Varsity Girls Soccer program, leading the team to their first-ever state championship in 2017. During her time at Wesleyan, Lacy has coached basketball, volleyball, girls and boys soccer, and cross country led various Bible studies and served on more than 20 mission trips. Lacy attends Passion City Church in Atlanta.

Jason Godbee joins the Wesleyan faculty as the Assistant Athletic Director for Media and will teach World History in the high school. Jason will also be an assistant football coach. Jason is a graduate of the University of North Florida where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and History. Prior to joining the Wesleyan faculty, Jason served as the Dean of Students and worked in Development at First Presbyterian Day School in Macon where he was also the head baseball coach and assistant football coach. Jason began his career in education at his alma mater, Landmark Christian School, where he taught AP U.S. History and Government. Jason also served as the head baseball coach and assistant football coach during his time at Landmark. Prior to entering the education field, Jason worked at ESPN Radio in Jacksonville, Florida and in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He also served as a community coach at Nease High School and Shiloh Christian School.

Staff

Todd Ashley will serve as Transportation Coordinator. Todd comes to Wesleyan after many years working in the local media and film industry at both Turner Broadcasting and Tyler Perry Studios in post-production and project management roles. Todd is a graduate of Georgia Southern University. He and his wife Kathryn, a former Wesleyan lower school teacher, are the proud parents of Will, age 11, and Sara, age 8. The Ashley family attends Perimeter Church.

Laura Breslin (’11), a former employee, returns to Wesleyan as a Technology Specialist after a few years away working for a digital marketing startup and as Web Development and Strategy Manager for the Westminster Schools. Laura graduated from Samford University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies. She is married to Connor Breslin (’11), current 8th-grade boys grade chair, and Boys Lacrosse coach. They currently attend Buckhead Church and just purchased their first home together in Peachtree Corners.

Natalie Dettman will join our community as Graphic Designer. A recent graduate of Kennesaw State University, Natalie held multiple design internships during college, including in creative services at Heidelberg USA and at Kennesaw State University in Continuing and Professional Education. She also worked for Chick-fil-A for six years, most recently in a managerial role. During her internship at Kennesaw State University, Natalie was recognized as the Gold Winner of the University Professional and Continuing Education Association (UPCEA) Excellence for Print Publications Award. Natalie currently attends Faith Community Church in Woodstock.

Leslie Hagen After serving as a teaching assistant in the lower school for two years, Leslie transitioned to the role of a Technology Specialist. After graduating from the University of Georgia with an undergraduate degree in Information Systems, Leslie worked at Cerner Corporation as a senior analyst and at Kronos as an analytics consultant. Leslie and her husband, Jeff, attend Dunwoody United Methodist Church, and they are the parents of Claire (3rd) and Kinsley (6th).

Minoo Mayfield will be serving as the Fine Arts Administrative Assistant. In addition, Minoo will be assisting the middle school fall and spring play. Minoo graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Theater and Performance Studies with a concentration in Costume Design. For the past seven years, Minoo has worked in the world of styling for commercial photoshoots, providing e-commerce and various marketing assets. Minoo comes to us from Carter’s Osh Kosh B’gosh. Minoo lives in Atlanta with her husband, Mitchell, who teaches high school science at Wesleyan.

Andrew Strayhorn (‘16) joins the Wesleyan staff as a Technology Specialist. Andrew graduated from Kennesaw University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. While in college, Andrew was the broadcast audio engineer in the KSU performance hall, worked as the production tech at Peachtree Corners Baptist Church, and most recently was working for the Atlanta Hawks in the audio department. Andrew attends Peachtree Corners Baptist Church.
