Suits Organizes Drive for Local Food Pantry

When she saw a news story on television about food insecurity being exacerbated during the global coronavirus pandemic, Wesleyan junior Lindsey Suits knew she wanted to help. On a run one afternoon – after her distance learning schoolwork was completed, of course – Lindsey was inspired by an idea a neighbor had used in the past to help fight hunger.
“I decided helping out the Solitary food pantry was a great way to use my time to help others in this difficult time,” she said.  “I connected with some of my classmates and they joined in to help me.”

Using a letter she shared with her neighborhood and friends at Wesleyan and other schools in the area, Lindsey filled her garage with donations for the food pantry.

“I’m glad we were able to help people in need at this time,” she said. “I really am proud of my family and friends for stepping up to serve others.”
