Distance Learning Spotlight: Sixth Grade Math

Middle school math teacher and sixth grade girls chair Laura Siron took an innovative approach with her math class as she is teaching her students about triangles. She turned her dining room into a courtroom setting and put triangles “on trial” to see whether they were congruent or not congruent. The students collected the evidence before the trial and then took turns being lawyers or witnesses to talk about why the triangle should be congruent or not congruent.
