Distance Learning Project Spotlight: High School Honors Spanish II

This season of distance learning has been a period of transition and change for students and teachers alike. In this series on distance learning projects, we will highlight classes that have used unique projects to keep students engaged while learning their respective course material at home.
High school Spanish teacher Whitney Martinez’s Spanish II Honors class recently finished a project where they were tasked to write a song about a city in Spain and record themselves singing the lyrics. Typically, the songs would be performed live in the classroom, but thanks to technology the students were still able to collaborate and share what they came up with. While the students have been apart, participating in Microsoft Team’s video calls and keeping in touch with each other has made it possible for creativity to flourish and Spanish to be learned!
