Wesleyan Head of School Joins Georgia GOAL Board of Directors

February 26, 2019

Wesleyan School Head of School, Chris Cleveland, has been named to the board of directors of the Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program, the school and Georgia GOAL announced on Friday.

“Wesleyan has a long relationship with Georgia GOAL and the education tax credit program has been an important resource to families across Georgia since its inception in 2008,” said Cleveland. “I am honored to join the GOAL Board of Directors to continue to support an organization that has done so much to shape the futures of children across the state.”

The Georgia GOAL Board of Directors is responsible for ensuring that the ongoing operations of the organization are consistent with its established mission, goals and policies. GOAL Board members represent a broad cross-section of experience and bring insights from the education, business, philanthropic and social services perspectives.

“We are thrilled to welcome Chris to the GOAL Board of Directors,” said Lisa Kelly, GOAL President. “Having the insight of an independent school leader like Chris will be valuable as we continue to meet the educational needs of families across the state.”

In 2008, Georgia’s elected officials passed the Education Expense Credit law to provide families in our state with access to increased educational opportunities for their children. Since inception, the Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program has led the way in implementing this important legislation through their ethical, transparent and proven approach. As Georgia's leading student scholarship organization, in partnership with 137 participating schools, GOAL is providing thousands of children throughout the Peach State with Greater Opportunities for Access to Learning – “GOAL.”
