Wesleyan School Celebrates Black History Month With Guest Speaker Rev. Connor

February 26, 2019

On Thursday, February 14th, Wesleyan School had a special chapel recognizing Black History Month as a part of the month long celebration happening on campus.

Rev. Wayland Connor, Senior Pastor of Greater Saint Peter, Jonesboro, GA spoke in both our middle and high school chapels. Music was provided by a group of friends who were all members of the same church at one time and now some attend other churches but occasionally sing together.

The message given by Rev. Connor was rich and discussed the need for unity and the story of African American history to be shared. The student led program included the history of Black History Month and poems by Langston Hughes and Countee Cullen.
