Middle and High School Students Learn About the Civil Rights Movement and the life of MLK Jr at the King Center

Today students from 5th – 12th grade were given the opportunity to visit the Sweet Auburn neighborhood of Atlanta where they learned more about the Civil Rights movement and the life of Martin Luther King Jr. The students visited the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church, the home of Martin Luther King Jr., and the King Center where a panel consisting of a former police chief, a King family member, and an original Freedom Rider spoke about growing up in a very different America. The panelists stressed the importance of education and the limitless opportunities a great education can provide in today’s America.
