The JV Boys Golf Team continues their undefeated streak on Monday afternoon, defeating Westminster by a score of 153 to 183. Will Wazevich took home medalist honors with a 1 under par 36! Jack Bennison also had a strong afternoon shooting a 38.
The Varsity Girls Lacrosse team secured two wins on Thursday and Friday last week to move to 14-1 on the season. On Thursday night, the Wolves took down Seckinger 21-3 on a rainy evening. The JV Boys Golf team continued their strong play on Tuesday, defeating Woodward 168 to 194 at Wolf Creek Golf Club. The low man for the Wolves was Brendan Wright (40) who was followed closely by Jack Bennison (41) and Will Wazevich (42).
On Wednesday afternoon, the Wolves took down Fellowship 111 to 129 at the River Pines Par 3 Course. With the wins, the team moved to 7-0 on the season!
The Varsity Boys Golf team competed in two matches earlier this week. On Monday afternoon, the Wolves finished in 8th out of 15 teams at the eighteen hole Lambert Longhorn Invitational. Andy Scott led the team with a 75 followed by Brendan Wright's 78. The team score was 318.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Wolves defeated Fellowship 149 to 156 at Horseshoe Bend. Ben Brown was the low medalist on the day with a 2-under 34. Andy Scott shot an even par 36, and Jack Brewster and Judd Stewart came in with a 39 and 40, respectively.
The Varsity Boys Soccer team captured the Region 7-AAA title on Tuesday night with a 4-0 win over Gilmer County. Scoring for the Wolves were Kerrighan Freeman, Garrison Thelen, Kyle Edwards, and Hudson Reynolds. Harrison James and Rhett Smith each had two assists! Alex Allgaier earned his sixth clean sheet of the season and helped seal an amazing evening of great soccer! By clinching the region title, the Wolves will earn the #1 seed in the playoffs and will host the first round of playoffs at home next week.
After being tied 11-11 at the intermission, the Varsity Girls Lacrosse team played a dominating second half and defeated Pace 23-17. The midfield did an amazing job controlling the draw circle. Avery Tucker led with 9 draw controls. Eva Garabadian had her best game of the year leading in points with 10 goals and 4 assists. The other point leaders were Savannah Higgins (6 G, 3 A), Kellan Terwilliger (3G, 1A), and Avery Tucker (2G, 4A). Britain Bridgers did a great job on attack moving the ball during transition. On defense, Maggie Soukup caused 2 turnovers for Wesleyan possession.
The Varsity Boys and Girls Tennis teams celebrated Senior Night by both defeating Lovett on Thursday evening. The Girls swept Lovett 5-0 and the Boys won 3-2! The Girls remain undefeated on the season and the Boys improved their record to 12-3. Both teams will be back at home on Tuesday against Pace. The Varsity Boys Soccer team took down 7A Mountain View on Friday evening by the score of 2-1. Rhett Smith and Kallaghan Freeman both found the back of the net for the Wolves. William Thomas and Rhett Smith assisted on the goals. With the win, the Wolves move to 8-3-2 on the season!
In a similar fashion to last year's Final Four playoff game, the Varsity Girls Lacrosse team knocked off Westminster in the last few seconds to win 20-19. Eva Garabadian scored the game-winner on an 8-meter penalty shot with 3 seconds left. Eva led the game in points with 4 goals, 5 assists, and won 9 draw controls. Savannah Higgins had her best game of the season finding the back of the net 7 times. Natalie Inman had a great defensive game shutting down the opponent and picking up 5 ground balls.
The Varsity Girls Tennis team continued their strong season on Tuesday afternoon after defeating Holy Innocents 5-0. Sophie Gibbs, Lauren Tucker, and Alexa Chase all won their singles matches. The doubles matches were also won by partners Olivia Noel/Chloe Shaia and Kate Stolle/Ava Singh. The Varsity Girls remain undefeated heading into their last few weeks of the season!

The Varsity baseball team had a strong week before the Easter holiday, winning three games over region foe White County! The Wolves won the games 8-0, 11-1, and 3-0 with strong defense combined with timely hitting. The wins moved the Wolves to 8-9 on the season and 5-4 in region play. The Varsity Boys Soccer team earned two big region wins last week to remain undefeated in region play. Both games went to overtime in which the Wolves scored the go-ahead goals to emerge victorious. Last Tuesday, the Wolves defeated West Hall 3-2 in double overtime. The boys followed up Tuesday's win with a 1-0 victory over Lumpkin County in one overtime. The Varsity Girls Lacrosse team defeated McIntosh 18-7 last Tuesday evening. Savannah Higgins had her best game of the season leading the team in points with 5 goals, 2 assists, 2 ground balls and caused 4 turnovers for Wesleyan possession. Eva Garabadian did a great job in midfield winning 10 draw controls and added 3 goals and 4 assists. Natalie Inman had a great night on defense transitioning the ball up the field.
The JV Boys Golf team finished in 2nd place at the JV Warrior Open on Saturday at Lane Creek Golf Club. Despite windy conditions, the team played well with all players scoring in the 80s and shooting a team score of 330. The JV Girls Lacrosse team competed in the JV Raider Rumble Tournament over the weekend. The girls played really well against strong competition, finishing 3rd in their division. The Lady Wolves came up short against Centennial on Friday (10-3 loss) but bounced back with two big wins over Kings Ridge (8-7) and Mount Pisgah (11-3) on Saturday. The win over Kings Ridge came in a sudden death overtime! Congrats to these girls and coaches on a great weekend!
The Varsity Girls Golf participated in the 18 hole Parkview Invitational on Saturday at Stone Mountain Golf Club. The Wolves brought home a team score of 260, earning them 1st place overall out of fifteen teams! Freshman Scout Ezzell shot a 79, which earned her low medalist honors for the tournament. The JV Boys Golf team defeated Westminster and Woodward on Wednesday afternoon to remain undefeated on the season. The Wolves shot a team score of 155, which included Brendan Wright's 37 (low medalist). Jack Brewster and Jack Bennison also contributed with a pair of 39's. Westminster and Woodward shot team scores of 164 and 190, respectively.
The Girls Varsity Lacrosse team earned a strong 18-6 win at home over Whitewater on Thursday night. Hailey Williamson had a fantastic game on attack leading the team with 5 goals and hustling after ground balls. Eva Garabadian played her first game of the season and added 5 goals and 1 assist. Other leading point scorers were Avery Tucker with 1 goal and 3 assists, Savannah Higgins with 1 goal and 2 assists, Caroline Peebles 1 goal and 2 assists and Britain Bridgers 1 goal and 1 assist. Ella Spitzer had a great game in goal with 9 saves.

On Tuesday afternoon at River Pines, the JV Boys Golf team earned a 167 to 189 win over Blessed Trinity. Freshmen Will Wazevich and Bryce Asbury both earned low medalist honors with scores of 41 (six over par). The JV Wolves will be back in action on Saturday (3/23) at the Oconee Warrior Open at Lane Creek Golf Club.
On a cool and breezy spring afternoon at River Pines, the Varsity Wolves Golf team defeated Blessed Trinity. The Varsity won by 8 strokes (141 to 149) after receiving even par scores from Ben Brown, Jack Brewster, and Alex Holcomb. All three golfers tied for low medalist honors!
The Wolves also set a school record for lowest team score (141) on a par 35 course! Great job, Wolves!

Impressively, 9 out of 11 goals were assisted. Avery Tucker led with 5 assists and 4 goals and Kellen Terwilliger also added 3 goals and 1 assist. On defense, Maggie Soukup and Natalie Inman both had great games causing 2 turnovers for Wesleyan possession.
The JV Boys Golf team started the season with a 172 to 192 win over Dunwoody on Monday afternoon at Dunwoody Country Club. Brendan Wright was the low medalist for the match, shooting a 40. Austin Asbury also had a solid round, scoring a birdie in his nine-hole match.

Rhett Smith scored twice, while Will Thomas and Cade Hosier each found the net once. Will Thomas assisted on two goals and Kallaghan Freeman assisted on one. The win moved the overall team record to 6-0-2.
The Girls Varsity Lacrosse team defeated Columbus 20-3 on Monday evening. It was a great team effort against Columbus with 13 players scoring or assisting goals. In the midfield, Bailey Rayburn caused 3 turnovers for Wesleyan possession and also had 2 assists and fellow middie Skyla Keo had a great night with 3 assists herself. Lilly Surber and Hannah Brewster both added 2 goals for the evening.

On Saturday at the Longhorn Stampede, Junior Wood Moore broke the School's 3200 Meter record, previously held by Mac Howie. Wood came in with a time of 9:25.79, which earned him 4th overall at the meet. Congrats to Wood on this incredible feat!
The Varsity Boys Golf team finished 2nd out of twenty teams on Saturday morning at the Buford Best Ball tournament held at Bears Best. The Wolves combined for a team score of 137. The two-man team of Alex Holcomb and Ben Brown finished for a team-best score of 5 under (67), followed by Judd Stewart and Beau Jackson who posted a score of 2 under (70). Great job, Wolves!
The Varsity Girls Basketball team is headed to the State Finals after defeating Carver Columbus 71-57 on Saturday evening at Savannah State University. The Lady Wolves led most of the game, stretching the lead to 24 points at one point; however, the talented Carver team fought back, cutting the lead to eight midway through the 4th quarter. After a timeout, the Wolves regained their grip on the game, stringing together a quick seven point run to stretch the lead back to fifteen, putting the game out of reach for the Carver Tigers.

The Wolves won the White County Warrior Scramble by 3 shots over Walton on Saturday at Apple Mountain Golf Club. The course brought tough and windy conditions, but the Wolves we up for the challenge. The team of Alex Holcomb and Ben Brown shot 9 under, finishing tied for low medalist honors at the tournament. Beau Jackson and Judd Stewart combined for a score of 8 under, finishing in second place overall.
The Varsity Girls Basketball team defeated Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School in the First Round of the State Tournament 72-45. Junior Wood Moore was recently named Super Six for Boys Track and Field by the Gwinnett Daily Post. He also received the Super Six recognition in Cross-Country this past fall. Wood finished as a state runner-up in the 3200 last year, and finished state runner-up in Cross-Country in November! Come support the Wolves Track team on February 14th as they host their first meet of the season!

The JV boys’ basketball season concluded this past Saturday (1/27) in the semi-finals of the JV League Playoffs with a loss to eventual champion Pace Academy. Prior to the semi-final game vs. Pace Academy the JV boys had a thrilling come from behind win against Woodward Academy in the league playoff quarterfinals. A total team effort, Ben Erb put the Wolves ahead with only seconds remaining to secure the win 51 – 50. The team finished with an overall record of 12 – 8. The coaching staff credits the players togetherness and unselfish play for the team’s success. Congrats to the JV Wolves on a great season!
The JV Girls basketball team came in 2nd place overall in the regular season standings and earned the 2nd seed in JV league tournament. The league consisted of Pace, Lovett, Westminster, Woodward, Holy Innocents, and Mt. Vernon.
In the tournament, the Wolves defeated Westminster (41-13) in the first round, and Pace (40-25) in the semi-finals, before falling to Holy Innocents in the championship game. The Metro Swim & Dive Championship meet at Westminster concluded on Saturday evening, and what a meet it was! Our girls’ and boys’ teams finish 7th and 5th, respectively. This comes after an afternoon of competition on Friday for our divers and a long day of competition on Saturday for our swimmers. For the All-County Girls Team, Freshman Weezie Moore earned 1st Team recognition, Juniors Ali Di Lenardo and Eva Murphy took home 2nd Team honors, and Junior Ansley Voss was honored with 3rd Team distinctions. On Saturday (1/6), the Lady Wolves (11-1) knocked off undefeated Bradley Central (TN) 67-57 in a matchup of two nationally ranked teams. Wesleyan came in ranked 44th and Bradley Central was 23rd. The Lady Wolves fell behind midway through the 3rd quarter, but found a way to take a three point lead heading into the 4th quarter. The girls hit some clutch shots down the stretch and pulled out the ten point victory!

The Varsity Boys Basketball team remains undefeated (3-0) in region play after knocking off West Hall 60-44 last Friday (1/5). Josh Kavel scored 25 points, James McGriff added 15 points, and Braden Tidwell chipped in 13 points for the Wolves.

The Wesleyan Swim and Dive team defeated Collins Hill on Friday night (1/5) by the combined score of 303-261. The Wesleyan girls team won 153-136 and the boys won 150-125. The Wolves had strong performances from Ryan Cowart, Abbey Suits, Vivian Hosier, Max Perry, MC Harrison, David Ohayon, and Cole Creel. Three swimmers also made state cuts for their individual performances. Ryan Cowart in the 50 free, Abbey Suits in diving, and Vivian Hosier in the 500 free. Congrats to these swimmers!
