What is the purpose of an Endowment Fund?

Tuition alone does not cover the cost of a Wesleyan education. Endowment and Annual Funds are important sources of funds to support the operating budget and minimize tuition increases. Endowment Funds are created by gifts and permanently set aside in a “principal” account. Interest on the invested monies is used each year to sustain Wesleyan. The endowment funds provide financial aid, improve and maintain facilities, and provide faculty salary and benefit assistance.
The financial support of this school is dependent upon the continued support of every family. As stated earlier, new families to Wesleyan are inheritors of Wesleyan’s mission, the buildings, athletics fields, the dedicated faculty and administration. Your gift to the endowment funds continue the Wesleyan tradition of providing for future generations.

Financial Aid

An endowment fund for Financial Aid allows Wesleyan to help current Wesleyan families in need. In addition, financial aid also provides educational opportunities for students with diverse talents, backgrounds and interests who may greatly enhance Wesleyan’s well-rounded student body, but who might otherwise not be able to afford such an educational opportunity.

Long Range Capital Endowment

Buildings have been built but as they age, they will always require new roofs, new chillers, and major IT improvements and upgrades. This endowment allows us to enhance these structures so that Wesleyan can continue to provide excellence in facilities and programs.

Faculty Salaries

Wesleyan’s complete commitment to hiring only faculty members who exhibit a personal Christian faith makes it a unique school. Every faculty member and administrator is expected to lead, teach and mentor our students by example in the way they conduct their own lives. This committed faculty is one of the school’s greatest strengths and continues to enhance Wesleyan’s ability to meet the mission and increase the value of a Wesleyan education. Endowment funds for faculty salaries enable the school to attract and retain Christian faculty of the highest caliber while keeping tuition affordable.
