High School Summer Reading

2018 Summer Reading Requirements

A minimum of three (3) books is required for each grade:
  • Two (2) books from the list of Faculty Sponsored selections (students choose both of these).
  • The English Department selection required for your course.
    For these selections, please purchase books with the same ISBN numbers as those listed.
    Assignments will be required for these books to be completed over the summer.

Faculty Sponsored Selection (Two Required)
All high school students will select two books from the Faculty Sponsored list.
Students will sign up for their choice in April. Students and teachers will discuss the book in August 2018. Students will sign an honor code statement saying they have read the book.

    Students will sign up for their choice on April 24 at 7:15am in the 8th grade hallway. Discussions on the books will be held in August 2018.

    English Department Selections
    In addition, rising 9th graders will read the following for English.
    Students will have an assignment during the summer to complete.

    An assessment will be given by the English department on these books the first week of school. These books must be purchased and brought to class on the first day of school.
