Wednesday, Feb. 5 marked opening night of Mary Poppins starring the Wolf Players. High school performers beautifully captured this well-known tale of a magical new nanny.
“The diversity of abilities and level of experience of the cast and crew stood out to me and made this show unique,” explains Caroline Mitchell, high school theater director. “The students joined together seamlessly to tell an amazing story.”
Audience members were awed as performers took flight using a theatrical fly system.
“Students were tasked with learning to engage their core with the fly rig while also maintaining proper breath support and control while singing sideways and upside down,” beams Mitchell.
Mitchell’s favorite part of the performance was Second Act, because it featured the song “Step in Time.”
“I got SO excited in the booth every time they started to sing. The students could tell you all about me jumping around and dancing with them in the booth,” says Mitchell.
Thank you to everyone who attended Mary Poppins, and congratulations, Wolf Players, on a spectacular performance!
