Lower school celebrates missions at chapel

On Wednesday, April 9, lower school students gathered for a chapel service celebrating Wesleyan’s spring break mission trips.
To begin the service, high school students led a time of worship. Students were then blessed to hear from Jen Sheppard, assistant director of Christian life: missions and retreats. She explained Wesleyan’s Christian life missions program, which offers eighth grade and high school students the opportunity to attend mission trips over spring break.
"Eight lower school teachers decided to give up their spring break to serve alongside students,” shares Sheppard.
These lower school teachers were welcomed to the stage to share their experiences with their students. They shared about the important work they did, where they stayed, what the culture was like, and what they ate!
“I hope and pray one day all of you feel called to serve,” encourages Paige Carothers, kindergarten teacher. “It’s incredible to go and see and serve God’s people.”
Thank you, Ms. Sheppard, high school worship leaders, and high school teachers for helping lead such a special time.
