After two tough losses, the JV Softball Wolves bounced back with a strong 10-0 shutout of Gilmer County on the road Monday (9/18) night. The win moves the team to 5-2 on the season. Click below to read highlights from the game.
The JV Wolves last two games will be next week on Wednesday (9/27) at home vs. Kings Ridge and Thursday (9/28) on the road at Lumpkin. Go Wolves!
The long drive to Ellijay did not dull the Wolves’ bats in their game with Gilmer High School. Wesleyan scored 10 runs over three innings to end the game by mercy rule. Morgan Mixon pitched all three innings striking out 5 batters and surrendering only one walk. 8th grader Chloe Hurd kickstarted the scoring with a 2-run homerun in the first inning that traveled well over the left field fence. She also picked up another RBI later in the game. 8th grader Rhiyan Fairman collected 2 hits to go along with 2 stolen bases. 9th grader Haley Roebuck tallied 2 hits including a double and 1 RBI. And, 8th grader Audrey Turner posted her first hit of the season—a long double over the left fielder’s head.
