Wolf Jr. Players getting set to soar in flying car

As soon as “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” was announced as the middle school spring musical, Chad Simmons, technical director and drama teacher, and Serena Wright, assistant technical director, began dreaming of the iconic car soaring across the Powell Theater stage.
A comprehensive search led to a rented look-alike arriving on campus halfway through rehearsal. Though no middle school performers hold a driver's license, the cast eagerly climbed into the car. The car is no stationary prop; it rises up, dips down, and even sprouts wings. As the cast pieced together more and more of the plot, Simmons and Wright worked diligently to perfect the synchronization of lights and sounds to bring the car’s character more to life.

Audiences of all ages are sure to love “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,” and seats are still available.
