Varsity cheerleading participates in first-ever competition

Over the weekend, varsity cheerleading participated in their first-ever competition in the history of Wesleyan!
Varsity cheer coach Emily Zavitz reflected on the competition, saying, "I was overwhelmed with pride for how well the squad executed a tough routine while also having a great time and making Wesleyan history! I'm super excited to see how we apply the feedback received from the first competition to improve throughout our season. We're just getting started!"

While the squad has wowed spectators with their sideline routines for many years, becoming a competition team presented new opportunities for growth. Coach Alex O'Donnell added, "It has been amazing to watch their confidence grow, and it was fun to see the leaders step up and encourage and lead their teammates well."
Way to go, Wolves!
