Advanced Chorus (7-8)

In this year-long course, we will explore the voice as a gift and instrument. We will sing a variety of repertoire (sacred, spirituals, secular, pop, musical theater, and more!) as we use our God-given instrument to praise Him! Other goals include: developing musicianship through singing, sight-reading, and theory practice; listening to, analyzing and critiquing music; and HAVING FUN! As has become tradition, the 7th and 8th grade chorus will make a music video, collaborating with the director on song choice, storyboard, arrangement, costumes, etc. The Middle School Chorus presents three evening concerts a year, participates in the Southern Star Music Festival (complete with a trip to Six Flags!), or Festival Disney, creates a music video and sings the national anthem at various on and off-campus sporting events (Wesleyan sporting events, Atlanta Gladiators, Braves, etc.). One-, two- and three- day optional Honor Chorus field trips are available! No previous experience is required.
