Christian Mission in Action

The Mission
The mission statement for Wesleyan School says, among other things, that it is "to be a Christian school" and provide each student a college preparatory education "guided by Christian principles."

As an institution, a school cannot itself be a Christian; rather, we define ourselves as a Christian school because we are made up of faculty and staff that believe in Christ as Lord and want to make Him known to the children and families in our care.
Therefore, we evidence our Christian mission by hiring only believing, practicing, Trinitarian Christians. Every adult who leads, teaches, coaches, directs, or mentors students believes in Jesus and strives to follow Him faithfully. Every member of our faculty commits to modeling Christian principles and to nourishing and challenging the children within their care. Our prayer is that students and families will see the love of Christ reflected in the lives of our faculty, staff, and leadership.
We also further our Christian mission through a variety of programs which are designed to invite students into a deeper relationship with Christ. These opportunities include Bible classes, chapel, community service, international and domestic missions, Bible studies, retreats, and more. While we welcome and enroll students and families from all faith backgrounds, as well as those with no faith affiliation, our sincere desire is that every student in our care will grow in their relationship with Christ during their time at Wesleyan.
The mission of Wesleyan is summarized in our JOY motto (Jesus, Others, Yourself), which is prominently displayed throughout campus - we strive to be a community in which Jesus is glorified, others are valued, and you are challenged to grow into the person God created you to be.
