      Accelerated Reader is a reading management program which teachers may use to monitor student  reading practice.  Accelerated Reader books in the Dozier Library are labeled with special stickers placed on the book spine.  After selecting and reading an Accelerated Reader book, a student may take a quiz on that book on a library computer.  The reading practice quizzes consist of five or ten multiple choice questions about the book.  The computer will calculate the student’s score and will print a report which gives the student immediate information on his or her performance.  Please note that Accelerated Reader book levels are approximate and should be used for guidance and not as boundaries.

Accelerated Reader book lists are provided to encourage outside reading.  It our our hope that families will enjoy reading together on many levels and that a love of reading and learning will be fostered outside the Wesleyan campus.
