HIGH SCHOOL
:

Jeans for Teens – For one week only, Feb. 1st – 8th, Serve-His League will be collecting gently used jeans for homeless teens through Aéropostale Clothing Store. Aéropostale will send the first 100,000 pairs of jeans to support homeless teens in Haiti and will match those donations with a new pair of jeans. That is a total of 200,000 jeans for Haiti! Please take some time this week to go through your closet and drawers for any jeans you have outgrown or no longer need and bring them to school. Donations can be dropped off outside Mrs. Pack’s office, W161. Again, the last day to bring in donations is Monday, Feb. 8th. Thank you Jenai Washington (11th) for bringing this service opportunity to Wesleyan School! For more information about the Teens for Jeans drive, please visit http://www.dosomething.org/teensforjeans/home.

Mission trip fundraiser — Students are invited to participate in the 5th annual Valentine’s Day Cake Bake, February 11th and 12th to help raise money for Wesleyan Missions.  Last year we raised $1,180 for missions with only 23 cake entries. This year we are hoping to raise even more money for missions, but we are going to need everyone’s help to reach our goal. Male students and faculty are asked to bake and decorate a cake for a silent auction February 11th during lunch. All money raised will be donated to support the Wesleyan mission trip program. Cake entries should be brought outside Dubose Cafeteria Thursday morning February 11th before school begins at 8:00 a.m. Silent Auction Winners will be posted the afternoon of the 11th on the Serve-His League bulletin board (2nd floor of Cleghorn), and all cakes must be paid in full Friday morning, February 12th in order to claim your cake. Please contact Mrs. Pack if you have any questions.

Trinity House – The following students and faculty chaperones made a visit to Trinity House on Friday, January 29th: Christyn Williams (12th), Audrey Anderson, Natalie Robinson (10th), Jane Sutcliff, Kelly Quigley (9th), Ms. Theresa Mays (HS Visual Arts), Mrs. Sabrina Schulze (HS College Counseling Admin. Asst.) and Mrs. Julie Pack (HS Serve-His League Coordinator & Bible). Trinity House is a residential rehabilitative program for homeless men in substance abuse recovery.  With each visit to Trinity House, students prepare and bring a meal to share with the men as well as share their stories with one another. For more information about Trinity House, please contact Mrs. Pack or go to their website http://tcmatlanta.org.  Serve-His League will be making another visit to Trinity House Monday, February 15th. Students interested in volunteering are asked to sign-up on the Serve-His League bulletin board and return their signed permission slip to Mrs. Pack as soon as possible. There are only 12 spots available, so don’t delay. Sign-up today!

Totes-2-Tots — Serve-His League would like to thank everyone who donated a gently used backpack, duffle bag, or other miscellaneous tote to Totes-2Tots January 11th – 15rd to help foster care children right here in Georgia. The Georgia Cancer Specialists and Atlanta Oncology Associates, who started this collection drive 8 years ago, were thrilled with our donations!
