The annual Souper Bowl of Caring Food Drive, Jan. 18 - Feb. 5, benefitting the Norcross Food Co-Op, North Fulton Community Charities, and Community Action Center, was another huge success! Students donated a total of 1018 food items! In appreciation for their generosity, all the middle school students enjoyed an "Out of Uniform” Day on Thursday, Feb. 18th.
On February 11th a group of twelve students (Lucy Schoenrock, Carrie Ciccotello, Maguire Wilder, Rachel Parrish, Caroline Reed, Madeline Day, Emma Bivings, Emily Johnson, Sara McPherson, Ellie Bradach, Beck Coxhead, and Madison Brady) and two faculty chaperones (Terry Dillard and Cherie Schofield) visited Tapestry House in Roswell for a special Valentine’s celebration. While eighth grader Carrie Ciccotello charmed the residents with a violin performance, the students made Valentine’s cards for residents and helped them make cards for their families. The students had a great time and are looking forward to going back again. The residents were grateful for the Valentine’s cards, and even more so for the time that the students spent talking and visiting with them.

Second grade service project: This marks the third year Wesleyan’s Second Grade Students have participated in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Pennies for Patients program, whose goal is to raise funds to help support research for leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and other blood related cancers. The students presented Ms. Heather Evans from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society with a check for $932 during the Lower School Chapel Service on November 11th. Since 1994, millions of dollars have been raised in pennies and other spare change by more than 10 million elementary, middle and high school students throughout the country. Wesleyan Second Graders have contributed more than $3500 in their three years of participation.
