Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act Program
The mission of the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) program is to protect students, their families, educators and staff from exposure to asbestos in schools. We strive to prevent exposure to asbestos in school buildings by requiring that public and non-profit schools inspect each school building for asbestos-containing building material and prepare an asbestos management plan to prevent disturbance of asbestos.
This notice is to inform you that Wesleyan School has an asbestos inspection and management plan as required by the AHERA rule. The management plan has been completed and approved. The plan is available in the Facility Manager's office at 5405 Spalding Drive, Peachtree Corners, Georgia 30092. The Facilities Manager can also be contacted at 678-223-2167 if you have any questions. Specific highlights of the plan include response actions taken or planned, locations of asbestos if found and a plan for dealing with asbestos if present. We will conduct re-inspections every six (6) months by our on-site designated person. A re-inspection and evaluation of the AHERA plan will also be conducted every three (3) years by an accredited firm.
