Lower School Technology classes are designed to teach basic computer skills while supporting classroom curriculum goals in reading, writing, and mathematics.
Grades K-1 are introduced to computer vocabulary and work in a variety of reading, math, and art programs such as Destination Reading/Math and Kid Pix.
- Grades 2 & 3 begin formal keyboarding and studies in formatting skills in Microsoft Word & Powerpoint. We also emphasize the writing process through graphic organizing software such as Kidspiration & Starfall.
- 4th Graders continue working in Microsoft Office software and have an additional 30-minute period to fine tune their keyboarding skills. They also have a 10-week Entrepreneurial project (Business of Tomorrow) that requires students to apply their knowledge of Microsoft Office in a business expo setting.
